The eighth generation of the Rolls-Royce Phantom was presented this Thursday (27/7), claiming for itself the title of ‘most luxurious car in the world’. Unmistakable, yet retaining the unmistakable profile of a Rolls-Royce, although with modern features, the new Phantom comes with singularities like the four different configurations for the rear seats: a bench seat (conventional), two individual seats with central armrest, two individual seats with a fixed center console or a ‘simple’ armchair.
In any of the four options, the Phantom can count on a number of pleasures for the passengers: folding tables behind the front seats, two screens that can be built-in, wi-fi connection, refrigerator, glasses of champagne and glasses of whiskey, plus of the ceiling simulating the starry sky. It will be available in two versions that differ by wheelbase and body length: normal and long ‘Extended Wheelbase’. Rolls-Royce did not disclose the exact measurements. As with all British brand models, the rear doors open in the opposite direction and the rear seats are positioned farther back than normal, hidden behind the rear pillar. Underneath the hood will only feature a gasoline engine, the V12 biturbo with 6.75 liters, developing 571 hp and 900 Nm of maximum torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission is from ZF and has a function that adjusts the operation according to the information provided by the navigation system. As for the safety system and driving aid, there are many new features: night vision system, high definition head-up display and LED headlamps which, optionally, can be complete with laser diodes – according to Rolls-Royce, the beam of light reaches 600 meters away mustang gt car covers.
2018 – ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM ‘LUXURY PRIVACY’
Almost all Rolls-Royce cars are tailor-made models, tailor-made for each customer, but the British brand wanted to go even further and presented at the Chengdu Motor Show in China the ‘Luxury Privacy’ finish level available for the Phantom with long chassis. This proposal allows us to create what Rolls-Royce defines as ‘Privacy Suite’, where the only limit is the extra price that the customer is willing to pay and from there enters the top secret field. The price and the client’s name are never divulged, as long as he wants to. The body of the Phantom may look like the other models of the family, but the interior will be totally different and never display information about it.
Over 90 years the Phantom has always been the ultimate exponent of luxury on wheels and a proposal of refinement for those who enjoy traveling with standards that are way above first class. It is for this type of people that Privacy Suite ‘Privacy Privacy’ has been created, where everything ends up leading to the maximization of space and comfort offered. The front and rear of the passenger compartment can be individualized at the touch of a button, which lifts a glass – the electrochromatic glass – that separates the driver from the passengers, who can still opt for transparency to appreciate the road, or the opacity that guarantees absolute intimacy. Rolls-Royce has, according to the brand itself, the best sound insulation in the world, whether for outside noise or for conversations that take place in the rear. The communication between the two areas of the passenger compartment is guaranteed by the Intercom System, but also with an opening allowing the passage of documents or objects that the occupants of the ‘rear suite’ wish to receive. At the rear there are two 12-inch screens and HDMI inputs that allow the connection of personal equipment. There are curtains to cover the side windows and all kinds of proposals that can go from a bar with refrigerator to glass glasses.

2018 – ROLLS-ROYCE GENEVE SPECIAL EDITIONS
Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke personalization division, which most of the brand’s customers rely on, will feature four models – three Phantom and one Dawn – at the Geneva Motor Show as a way to enhance their personalization potential. What stands out most is the ‘Dawn Aero Cowling’, the changes approximate the aesthetics of the model to that of a roadster. This approach was achieved with a cover on the rear seats made of carbon fiber and aluminum, and covered with leather. This version features a bicolour body, the hood has been finished in satin silver tones, while the rest of exterior features the ‘Gunmetal Gray’ color. This combination was inspired by the aviation industry and the paint was developed especially for the model. The Phantom called ‘Whispered Muse’ was modified to become an art gallery on wheels. Features works by designer Helen Amy Murray and through the panel, artistic creations, which include extensions of wavy silk, evoke the process of developing the Spirit of Ecstasy. The theme continues on the interior fabric of the doors and the symbol on the hood (‘Spirit of Ecstasy’) is made in full gold. ‘A Moment in Time’, the last of the three Phantom, features an aluminum plate molded in the shape of a silk strip suspended in water. The piece is located at the top of a front panel in crafted wood to display a tone identical to that of the exterior paint.
